What data and analytics work covers

Data and analytics work spans three connected things: deciding what data the organisation needs and who owns it, building the platform that holds it, and producing the reporting that people actually use. Each depends on the one before, which is why dashboard projects commissioned without the first two tend to be rebuilt.

The reporting pattern we see most

An organisation with several reporting tools, no agreed definition of its core measures, and a monthly pack assembled by hand from extracts. The symptom is disagreement in meetings about whose number is right. The cause is that no one owns the definition. Technology does not fix that, and buying another tool usually makes it worse.

How CLA Emirates delivers this work

We agree the measures and their definitions before touching architecture, because that is the part that determines whether anyone trusts the output. Platform work is then sized to the organisation rather than to a reference architecture, and reporting is built with the people who will use it. Where finance reporting is in scope, we design for auditability from the outset, since the same data increasingly ends up in a disclosure.
